Look what i found! - An absolutely beautiful all metal immaculate Brother sewing machine. It is early electric, Model 601. Anyone got an idea how old it might be. Can't seem to find any info on it.
In all her retro pale blue loveliness.
Even the cover is fabulous.
ooooo....she's BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteAwwwh, my mom has one of those only in harvest yellow, I'm going to guess it's from the 70's ;)
ReplyDeleteNice one! I'd guess 1970s too. xx
ReplyDeleteOh that is gorgeous indeed Thriftbee and the handle is really different. I think its the 70's too as we used something very similar in Secondary school. Where did you discover it?
ReplyDeleteOh just how gorgeous is that :) Am guessing 70's too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this beauty I was immediately reminded of the Brother machines in my home economics class. That would be the *ahem* 1970's. What a great find. I especially like the case. The new machines with fancy computers attachments kind of scare me. Just forward & back. Maybe a zig zag. What more do you need?

Love the colour.
ReplyDeleteSaw a singer at the weekend in a second hand furniture place and was tempted.
What will you make I wonder?
Very pretty! And made to last in that era, no electronic gizmos to go wrong. Even the base and the case are prettier and more durable than the modern ones. Ahh, old stuff. It's the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteIts lovely and the colour is gorgeous.I wouldnt have any idea how old it was though. I have got my mums old machine which is a Singer.
ReplyDeleteGreat score! It's fabulous! No idea how old, possibly early 70's?

Beautiful machine, looks in great condition. I am wondering if it might be a 1960s model because from memory there were no machines set in a timber base from the 1960s onwards, they were all plastic (at least here in Australia). My 1964 Singer came in a plastic base and case.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! has to be up there with the best finds ever! I think it's from the 60's xx
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I even love the wooden base and the fantastic cover! Great find! Thank you for sharing at Cap Creations.
ReplyDeletegood sturdy machine!! love the old ones :)
ReplyDeleteDid it come with that awesome green-handled cover? score! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI bought the same machine in 1968.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter just bought the same machine. She needs some parts. Do you know any more information about the machine?
